Some disconcerting issues have arisen over our projects, both Licensed and non-Licensed, along with some (unnamed) sites that are hosting them.
In earlier years, we had granted permission to a few sites that literally requested to host a project or two of ours. To these that we have given permission, they may continue to do so under the same terms and conditions as before, which is that they honor the agreement that should any of our projects they host become Licensed (for the English reading market), that they remove and discontinue whatever manner of distribution they have for that project. It is their responsibility to keep tabs of such information, not ours for them. With this permission, it is in agreement that they are solely responsible for what is on their site and for any reprecussions that might result in their failure to comply with this agreement.
As with anything, there are Pros and Cons to having projects hosted elsewhere. People have to realize, where exposure can be good for any group, it can be harmful, too, and so we've asked that no one else host files of any of our projects via any means and sincerely hope that you have the conscious integrity to respect our request and decision. (This has been written in our FAQ section since 2006.)
We provide our projects two ways: through various servers on mIRC and here on our own website. We do not charge any fees, ask for donations, or get kickbacks from ads. We do not require membership; only ask that you are of legal age to view the content on our website. We do not require passwords or make it difficult to find any of our projects. We provide links for downloading the files for your convenience, so that we have, yes, the ability and control to remove them from being distributed when a project becomes Licensed.
We really would like for fans of a mangaka we feature, or people that like a certain project that we’re doing, to come to our channel on mIRC and/or our website to get our releases, where they can also make short comments, if they wish, on how we’re doing or what project or mangaka they particular like. We work very hard to put English to foreign, hard-to-obtain boys-love manga for the English oriented community to help further the reach and interest in these great artists (mangakas). It is not our intention to be a cheap alternative to these wonderful hard copy mangas. We encourage all to go out and buy the books to support the mangaka and the company once they are available. There is absolutely nothing like having the real thing in your hand. (That’s not a pun.)
To those that have not respected our request and decision of not having our releases hosted elsewhere, we ask again that all of our projects be removed from your sites. We did not request that you supply them, or give permission to share them online in websites, forums, LJs, etc., and we are not in support of it.
Technically, we cannot stop anyone from putting our projects up on their site or other serving host, let alone remove them, we can only depend on people‘s integrity to respect our wishes. Yet by having any project of ours on your site, you, the site owner, automatically and unconditionally agree to the terms of conditions set forth (stated above) and assumes full responsibility of keeping tabs and removing whatever manner of distribution you have for that project, whether it be a downloadable or view only file, from your site once it becomes Licensed or should a mangaka request it be removed. You are solely accountable for any reprecussions for failing to do so.
For whatever reasons a person or site might have to distribute our projects elsewhere without our consent and/or knowledge, it is the responsibility of the site's owner, to manage their site. It is not ours to search through the hundreds, if not thousands, of sites that are out there to find who 'might' be distributing a project of ours, just to tap you on the shoulder and give notice.
Above all else, Countless Time requests that all manner of distribution/viewing of projects that have been LICENSED be stopped and removed from your sites. You can view a listing of all the projects we no longer distribute or condone the distribution of, in part or in whole, due to the fact that it has become LICENSED, by clicking on the link 'Licensed' that is on the left under Projects.
